The US Air Force Academy has been training and educating the Air Force officers since 1955; it is the youngest of the four armed services academies in America. More than 4,000 cadets within 40 squadrons attend USAFA, which is supported by an additional 2,000 military personnel and 1,600 civilians. The expansive grounds of the academy incorporate training encampments, athletic facilities and fields, a visitor center, officers? club, Air Force housing and homes, an airfield and the Academy Chapel.
